Tomatito is the casual little brother of El Willy in Shanghai, created by the Spanish chef Willy Trullàs Moreno. Inspired by the Spanish bars from the 80's with a modern twist reflecting what the designers are doing in modern Spain nowadays, with 3 locations across Asia the decoration reflects an evolution of the concept in each restaurant with a sexy common note. The arrival of the concept to Ho Chi Minh started not only a culinary revolution with the recognition from the local press and winning awards in chef and restaurant of the years but also in its design created by Max (Willy's brother). It’s focused on family-style dining, but with the element of fun. The atmosphere is relaxing, funky and a perfect place to dine, grab a bite or have a drink.

We followed a mystery lead of wooden stairs to reach Tomatito, which is located on the first floor of a beautiful white building on a very French street – Calmette. The dining place is spacious with funky Spanish concepts, red neon lighting effects and Spanish songs played in the background. The setting creates a cheery ambience by displaying eye-catching décors and Spanish artistic traditions on the wall. We also like the chic and modern bar session – a perfect spot for couples who prefer some casual drinks and chit-chat. The staff was very professional and attentive to our needs; meanwhile, the dining service was pretty smooth, and we had our privacy throughout the dining experience. We ordered some vegetarian options presented with the typical meat menu in terms of the food. The sesame taco dish was crunchy and tasty, with a little bit of sweetness from watermelon salsa. We find the Spanish omelette delectable and pleasing, a smoky flavour created by potato and onion stuffings and delightful creamy sauce on the top. The final salad dish had the smoky BBQ infused tomatoes in perfect harmony with flavourful eggplant hummus and lots of fresh herbs. We really enjoyed the food overall.

Overall view of our order (Mini taco de sandía, Tortilla de patatas,Tomatitos salaos)
We were amazed by a spacious dining place with Spanish tradition inspired décor and neon lighting effects at Tomatito. We loved the exquisite details hung on the walls, from artistic photos of famous people, traditional Spanish objects to a creative display of Vespa in the middle of the dining space. Besides, the food is amazingly tasty with a delicious touch of Spanish inspired cuisine.
Everything was in place that we couldn't make any suggestions for improvement.
