Imagine coming over to someone’s home to dine, getting to see all the photos they took on vacations, posters of their favourite movies hanging on the walls, eating dishes that they have learnt to make while being on the road. You have no expectation. Or, you just don’t know what to expect. But as you finish the meal, you find yourself being loved, tenderly and dearly. That’s Prem. Not just a bistro, Prem brings you in and hosts you with love and an unique selection of vegetarian dishes.

We reached Prem bistro through a wooden staircase right next to its café named Kafka. We were amazed by a little garden on the outdoor terrace, adding lively green elements into the space. The warm orange shade with rustic furniture and lovely décor of vacation photos bring out a homely and unfamiliar atmosphere. Meanwhile, the air-con area is equipped with floor-seating sofas and cushions, making you feel like dining in your cozy living room. The staff was quite welcoming and attentive; however, we would love to see a more friendly attitude during the dining service. Regarding the food, we ordered a combination of Asian and western cuisine. The fresh spring rolls were well-presented with essential stuffed greens, well dipped in the delicious soy paste. The chickpea “omelette” had a deliciously sautéed stuffing, but we felt like it lacked a touch of seasoning to make the dish more flavourful. We loved the final dish - folded cream cheese mushroom omelette; such a unique taste and flavour is contributed by dill – one of the critical ingredients that creates a pleasant sense of harmony.
Chickpea "omelet" with mushroom and avocado (chickpeas wrap, mushroom, broccoli stuffings, avocado, cherry tomatoes and sourcream)
Folded creamcheese mushroom omelet (omelet with creamcheese, mushrooms, dill, onion stuffings) served with Dijon mustard dressing
Fresh spring rolls (stuffed with carrots, lettuce, herbs, avocado, cucumber) served with soy paste
Overall view of our order (Fresh spring rolls , Folded creamcheese mushroom omelet, Chickpea "omelet" with mushroom and avocado)
We liked the little garden view with luminous lights and lovely buddha statue on the outdoor terrace. We were impressed by an intensive menu that presents a diverse range of Western and Vietnamese-inspired cuisine. The food was quite satisfying and well presented.
In our opinion, the chickpea “omelette” dish could be better with a more flavourful touch of different spices or creamy-textured sauces. Other than that, everything is quite delightful.
