Not your mama is a vegan bakeshop with the idea that good food is simply just edible happiness. We believe in the art of homemade baked goods, from using natural and locally-sourced ingredients to hand-crafting each pastry with love. Here we create everything consciously, while minimizing our ecological footprint and making your days a little happier. Specializing in breads, brownies, cookies, tarts and cheesecakes, not your mama is here for your every occasion.
Review
We randomly found "Not your mama" through a Facebook group of the vegan community. The shop is professionally presented on Facebook with a lovely logo design and beautiful photos of vegan bakes. We ordered some items both from the old and new menu. The Tiramisu has an interesting taste – lightly sweetened and coffee-flavoured, but it lacked certain elements that gave an authentic tiramisu taste. The Portuguese custard tart had a crispy crust and soft filling inside, a perfect alternative for a vegan option. Still, we expected to see more innovative ingredients inside the filling to create a creamy egg yolk feel. The buns were sweeter than we expected; perhaps our level of sweetness for baked goods is relatively low. The creamy topping was tasty with different exotic flavours - cinnamon caramel, passion fruit, orange choco and it helped soften the condensed texture. Overall, we enjoyed the sweets and would love to try other items soon.

Passion fruit custard cinnamon buns (Soft sweet buns filled with cinnamon brown sugar, glazed with burnt sugar syrup & passion fruit syrup, topped with creamy custard, passion fruit jam & fresh mint leaves)
Portuguese custard tart, with a soft custard filling and a buttery puff pastry crust
Spiced cinnamon caramel buns (Soft sweet buns filled with warming spices of cinnamon, clove and allspice, glazed with burnt sugar syrup, topped with cashew cream cheese, miso caramel & roasted walnuts)
Which elements impress us?
The business setting is exceptionally professional with a distinctive logo, good menu design and beautiful pictures. We loved the friendly-environmentally packaging and the owner's dedication, whom I believe deliver the bakes by herself. The menu is entirely vegan, with a wide range of different bakes made with innovative ingredients.
Which elements could be improved?
We would love to see a better version of everything with a touch of different alternative ingredients to reach the authentic taste as much as possible. Other than that, we were happy to support the shop with such good ideas and the potential to grow.
