Maison Marou is a cafe, patisserie and gourmet chocolate factory in Vietnam. Known as ‘the house chocolate bars built’, this is where you can experience the finest Vietnamese cacao and enjoy fresh creations made daily by top chocolatiers.
Monday - Sunday: 9:00 – 22:00
Situated in a charming white building, Maison Marou is easily recognized from afar by its signature red eaves. The café has a catchy branding design with many signature decorations, including a huge map of cacao origins, the cacao grinding machine, and product display areas. Especially the open baking area gives us a joyful observation of the real chocolate-making process. The staff was generally nice and friendly. As for drinks, we ordered two hot chocolates – signature chilli, cinnamon, and signature cashew. The difference between them is the milk ingredient, but we would say they tasted equally very good. Regarding sweets, we ordered a chocolate tart and pain Suisse. The tart was good and perfectly presented – the chocolate cream on top of the crunchy tart shell, decorated with caramelized cashews and brownie dice. Meanwhile, the pain Suisse filling was very sweet, and its texture was not as crispy as we expected.
Chocolate tart (Dark chocolate chantilly, chocolate ganache, caramelized cashews, brownie dices, and crunchy tart shell)
Signature cashew
Pain Suisse (butter dough folded around pastry cream and pieces of dark chocolate)
Signature chilli and cinnamon
We like Marou’s spacious and catchy layout that presents its creative and memorable signature. The drinks and sweets menu are various and distinctive; everything is rich in chocolate, which makes Marou a perfect place to indulge for chocolate lovers.
The pain Suisse could be better if they adjusted the filling to be less sweet and added more chocolate chips to enhance the chocolate flavour.
