The word "Hum" originates from the Sanskrit mantra 'Om Mani Padme Hum,' which can be translated as 'Om, to the Jewel in the Lotus, Hum.' In Buddhism, the Lotus symbolises the altruistic mind of Enlightenment and also human compassion. Situated in three beautiful locations in districts 1, district 2 and 3, near the city’s top tourist attractions, Hum Vegetarian offers a cozy, elegant and calming atmosphere in which to enjoy delectable food. The food is prepared on site from various fresh beans, nuts, vegetables, flowers, and fruits. Simple and nutritious, the dishes are made using entirely natural ingredients by our chefs' attentive hands, resulting in creations that are not only flavoursome and aromatic, but also aesthetically beautiful.

Hum Vegetarian has been one of the most renowned vegetarian restaurants in town for several years, and its reputation remains thanks to the unique concept and exceptional cuisine. Located in a quiet street, the restaurant carries a peaceful vibe from its green entrance to wooden interior design. Especially, the restaurant bar has tropical décor with an indoor pond that displays Vietnamese-style ceramic pots and coconuts on tiny boats. The staff attitude was very friendly and professional regardless of how crowded the restaurant is. Regarding the food, we ordered signature dishes from a creative menu with a flavour touch of Vietnamese cuisine. The 'Diep' roll was delicately made with a green vegetable, bringing out the fresh taste from nature and integrating well with the vegan sweet and sour sauce. The lotus lube and mixed fruits dish is light yet crunchy and presented beautifully with an attractive colour combination of veggies on the top and lotus cracks on the bottom. Finally, the spinach salad dish had a special dressing of bitter spiny gourd –commonly seen as a key ingredient to make Vietnamese red sticky rice; the sweetness of red colour was mixed well with a sour flavour from grapefruits. Overall, we were pretty satisfied with the food.

Spinach with spiny bitter gourd dressing (spinach, grape fruits, onions, mixed with spiny bitter gourd sauce)
Lotus tube and mixed fruits in spicy sauce (fried lotus, zucchini, sauté veggies on top)
Overall view of our order (‘Diep’ roll, Lotus tube and mixed fruits, Spinach with spiny bitter gourd dressing)
We love the peaceful atmosphere and its rustic interior design with some highlights of paintings and tropical-inspired décor. We received an outstanding dining service, hospitable hosts and attentive staff. The food menu is variedly amazing, but the drink menu, especially cocktails, is even more innovative with many herbs and natural ingredients.
We had a good time at Hum, and we did not see any necessary improvements to be made.
