Esta Eatery is a modern Asian Eatery in Ho Chi Minh, creating bold flavours with the heart of their kitchen being their flame grill. Led by the young, talented Vietnamese Head Chef, Francis Thuan. Esta’s open kitchen gives customers an inside look into their operations – always a good sign and an experience to watch the chefs hard at work. Alongside their lavish interior is a dark-toned private room. Perfect for group’s or celebrating a birthday. Review
Esta restaurant has complete privacy thanks to its quiet location and mysterious dark-tone entrance with a name sign only. The restaurant has such a cozy and romantic atmosphere, decorated with elegant interior design and formal settings in neutral shades. Noticeably, the wood-fired kitchen displays an open space that gives us behind-the-scenes of exquisite dining courses. Esta also has a separate dining room for guests who would like a private space to celebrate special occasions. The staff was welcoming and attentive to our order; they gave us details of every ingredient before serving and the instruction to enjoy the dish in a proper way. As for the appetizer, we had a fresh rocket salad dish mixed with pickle strawberry boshi, rhubarb and almond flakes. The rocket brought out a strong earthy flavour, yet it was quite bland. The miso-glazed butternut squash was beautifully presented with a creamy texture and delectable savour. The cabbage dish was distinctively tasty, presented with a smoky flavour from roasted cabbage, a sour touch of pickled plum and nutty sesame flakes. For dessert, we had cherry cassis granita – a combination of sour cherries simmered in water and sugar dissolved into sweet syrup.

Which elements impress us?
We loved that Esta offers a private and romantic dining space which is a perfect place to dine for couples or even groups of beautiful single ladies. The elegant interior design and the open wood-fired kitchen created a lavish vibe that made us feel comfortable throughout the dining experience for the whole night. The biggest point for the restaurant was that they did have a customized vegetarian menu, and the food was innovated.
Which elements could be improved?
The salad could have been better if it was mixed with a different sauce giving a more aromantic or luscious taste. Other than that, we enjoyed the food pretty much.
